St. John’s, NL - TaskforceNL, a local not for profit social enterprise, is delighted to welcome Constanza Safatle as the inaugural Executive Director of the organization. Prior to starting in this new role, Constanza sat on the Board of TaskforceNL in a volunteer capacity.

Constanza is a driven entrepreneur and leader with a passion for social enterprise and empowering women. She is the founder of Newbornlander, a commercial lawyer and a leader in immigration and entrepreneurship. Constanza graduated from Los Andes University, in Chile, with a Bachelor of Law working as a commercial lawyer with the Bank of Chile. While attending university she co-founded a entrepreneurship program with a number of community partners, where she co-founded and worked in an entrepreneurship program with women in vulnerable situations. In 2015, Constanza immigrated to Newfoundland and Labrador with her family. 

For the past four years Constanza has been working full time in the non-profit sector. Working with both the Refugee and Immigrant Advisory Council and the YWCA, she held positions in which she was responsible for the coordination of services for newcomer women. While working full time in the non-profit sector, Constanza built a successful social enterprise- Newbornlander, a company that manufactures baby accessories while creating employment opportunities for newcomer women.

The organization started by supporting the healthcare system during a time of crisis and continues to invigorate and revitalize Newfoundland and Labrador by actioning big ideas. We are now using the same ingenuity and can-do attitude that was sparked during the COVID-19 crisis to activate people and organizations to tackle some of our province’s biggest challenges and opportunities.
